HISTORY

Since 1993, the Family Resource Centre has been helping individuals and families in Vernon move forward and lead healthy lives.

It began with two counsellors who dreamed of creating a place where families could access self-help resources, group support, and individual counselling to build healthier lives and a stronger community.

From a small team of three staff and a few volunteers, we’ve grown to 23 staff, 40 volunteers, and a dedicated Board of Directors. Each year, we provide counselling and support to nearly 1,300 children, youth, adults, couples, parents, and families—offering programs that respond to the community’s evolving needs.

Our counsellors and trained volunteers help people discover their own answers, build confidence, and move toward happiness and wellbeing. We’re proud to see so many clients reach their goals and create brighter futures for their families.

As a non-profit and registered charity, we rely on community support—more support means more programming, and a stronger Vernon.

Our commitment: All our programs and groups are trans and non-binary inclusive, based on gender identity.
